Sprinklers spraying the house walls or windows
Walls, windows and doors near the garden have white salt rings, streaks or damp patches at the level sprinkler spray reaches. You may see heads spraying onto paving or the house when the zone runs early in the morning.
Irrigation & Landscape
A valve stuck open is treated as urgent because of the water it wastes.

What usually sits behind this symptom, and what tells one cause from another.
Heads knocked out of alignment
Head turned or tilted; spray pattern points at the wall.
Wrong nozzle or arc for the space
Full-circle heads used along walls instead of part-circle.
Pressure too high, causing overspray
Misting and overthrow measured beyond the bed.
02BEFORE ANYONE VISITS
What you can safely check.
- Run each zone and watch where the spray lands.
- Note which heads hit walls, glass or paving.
- Wipe salt marks off glass with a suitable cleaner soon after watering.
- Avoid running sprinklers in strong wind.
03WHAT WE MEASURE
We run each zone, map where each head throws, measure pressure and check nozzle types. Heads are realigned or changed to part-circle or lower-angle nozzles so water stays on the planting.
04IN A VILLA
Villa gardens often run planting right up to the house and boundary walls, with sprinklers installed before furniture, paving and planters moved them out of line. Irrigation water leaves salt deposits on glass and render, and soaked walls connect directly to damp problems inside.
05THE FIX
Which repair, and when.
Constant wetting stains walls and glass, damages render and paint, and can drive damp into the house.
Realign heads
Heads have been knocked out of line.
Change nozzles or arcs
The pattern does not suit the space.
Regulate pressure
High pressure causes overspray.
06Typical villa irrigation callout
AED 180 – 900 depending on the fault
Controller, battery and single-solenoid faults sit at the lower end. Buried line location and repair sits higher and depends on where the fault turns out to be.
07QUESTIONS
- Why are my windows covered in white marks?
- Dissolved salts in irrigation water dry on the glass.
- Can drip replace sprinklers near walls?
- Often, for beds close to the house.
- Does it affect damp inside?
- Wetting the wall can contribute to damp on the inside face.
- Should heads be lowered?
- Low-angle nozzles reduce how high water reaches on walls.
