Same or next day

Sprinkler heads barely lifting

When the zone runs, the pop-up heads rise only part of the way, or not at all, and the spray dribbles instead of reaching across the lawn. Dry patches appear between heads. The zone is not getting enough pressure or flow to drive them.

Irrigation & Landscape

A valve stuck open is treated as urgent because of the water it wastes.

01LIKELY CAUSES

What usually sits behind this symptom, and what tells one cause from another.

  • Leak on the zone reducing pressure

Pressure measured at the head drops; a wet area found on the run.

  • Too many heads for the available flow

Heads counted and flow compared with supply capacity.

  • Valve not opening fully

Flow control set low or diaphragm partly blocked.

  • Booster pump or supply weak

Supply pressure low with all zones affected.

02BEFORE ANYONE VISITS

What you can safely check.

  • Check whether all zones or only one is affected.
  • Look for wet areas or puddles along the zone.
  • Clear grass and soil from around the heads.
  • Note whether a recent change added heads to the zone.

03WHAT WE MEASURE

We measure supply pressure, then pressure at heads along the zone while running. Flow controls and valves are checked, heads inspected, and the zone layout compared with supply capacity.

04IN A VILLA

Villa irrigation often runs from a tank and booster pump shared with the house supply, and gardens get extended over the years with extra heads added to existing zones. Both reduce pressure until heads cannot lift.

05THE FIX

Which repair, and when.

Lawn and beds dry out unevenly, and a hidden leak keeps wasting water.

  1. Repair the leak on the zone

    Pressure is being lost.

  2. Split the zone or change nozzles

Too many heads for the flow.

  3. Service the valve or pump

    Equipment is restricting flow.

06Typical villa irrigation callout

AED 180 – 900 depending on the fault

Controller, battery and single-solenoid faults sit at the lower end. Buried line location and repair sits higher and depends on where the fault turns out to be.

07QUESTIONS

Could the issue be the water supply to the house?
If all zones and indoor taps are weak, yes — we check supply pressure first.
Are cheaper heads the problem?
Sometimes, but pressure and zone design are more often the cause.
