Automatic pool cover not opening or closing
The motorised cover stalls partway across the pool, runs crooked so one edge leads, or does not move at all when the key switch or remote is used. You may hear the motor running without movement, or a clicking from the cover pit.
Pool Maintenance
Normally scheduled. Equipment failures that would leave the pool stagnant are handled sooner.

What usually sits behind this symptom, and what tells one cause from another.
Limit settings drifted
Cover stops early or overruns.
Slats damaged or jammed
Slats cracked or caught.
Motor or drive fault
Motor hums without turning.
02BEFORE ANYONE VISITS
What you can safely check.
- Stop operating the cover if it runs crooked.
- Keep people off a partly closed cover.
- Check for debris at the edges.
- Note any error lights on the control.
03WHAT WE MEASURE
We check the control and its key switch, the limit settings, motor current and the drive coupling, then inspect slats, end caps and side guides along the cover’s path. Covers are realigned and adjusted carefully, because forcing them damages slats that are expensive to replace.
04IN A VILLA
Villa pools with automatic covers rely on motors and drives housed in pits beside or under the pool, where water, sand and heat collect. Covers also see daily use in summer, which wears slats and guides faster than occasional use.
05THE FIX
Which repair, and when.
A cover left partly open is unsafe and can be damaged further.
Reset limits
Settings drifted.
Replace damaged slats
Slats are broken.
Repair the motor or drive
The mechanism has failed.
06Typical villa pool servicing
Quoted per visit or on a regular schedule
Depends on pool volume, equipment set and visit frequency. Equipment repairs are separate and quoted after inspection. We do not carry out pool construction or full renovation.

- Is a partly closed cover safe?
- No; keep people off it.
- Why does it run crooked?
- Slat or drive alignment issues.
