02BEFORE ANYONE VISITS
What you can safely check.
- Look at the lid from a safe position; do not stand on a tank.
- Check for dust or insects at the hatch.
- Note whether water tastes or smells different.
- Keep the hatch closed until it is fixed.
03WHAT WE MEASURE
We inspect the lid, seal and frame, check inside the tank for contamination from the opening, and confirm whether the existing lid can be refitted or must be replaced.
04IN A VILLA
Villa roof tanks sit in direct sun all year, and plastic lids deform and crack over time. Ground tanks often have hatches at path level, exposed to garden dust and irrigation water.
05THE FIX
Which repair, and when.
An unsealed tank lets in dust, insects and light, which affect water quality and encourage growth on the walls. Over a summer, a small gap is enough to leave a sediment layer on the tank floor that then travels to aerators, valves and appliances.

The lid is sound but the seal has failed.
