A wall-mounted television or floating shelf that was level now tilts slightly, or droops at one end. A gradual tilt usually means a fixing is slipping or the mount is flexing — an early warning before something comes down.

One fixing slipping in a weak section of wall
Gap behind one side of the bracket; plug moving in its hole.
Mount or shelf bracket flexing under load
Bracket bends visibly; load exceeds its rating.
Mount never fixed into solid backing
Fixings in gypsum only, with no stud or backing.
02BEFORE ANYONE VISITS
What you can safely check.
- Look at the gap between the bracket and the wall on each side.
- Check whether anything heavier has been added since installation.
- Do not lean on a tilting shelf or pull on a tilting TV.
- Consider taking the TV down if the tilt is increasing.
03WHAT WE MEASURE
We remove the item, inspect the fixings and wall behind, confirm the wall construction and the load, then re-fix with fixings rated for it and set it level.
04IN A VILLA
Larger villa living rooms invite larger televisions and longer shelves, often on gypsum walls or partitions. The load and the wall type need matching, or the mount slowly gives way.
05THE FIX
Which repair, and when.
A slipping mount can fail suddenly, damaging the TV and the wall and posing a risk to anyone nearby.
Re-fix into solid material or backing
Fixings have slipped in a weak substrate.
Replace the mount or bracket
The hardware is flexing under load.
Reduce or spread the load
The shelf carries more than it was designed for.

07QUESTIONS
- Can I just tighten the screws?
- If the plug is moving in the wall, tightening will not hold. The fixing needs replacing.
- Can cables be hidden at the same time?
- Often, depending on the wall. We discuss it during the visit.
