- Look for rust at welds and bottom rails.
- Avoid sanding painted metal without knowing what coating is on it.
- Note which sections face the sun.

We identify the substrate and existing coating, test adhesion and check the extent of rust. Preparation and primer are chosen for the metal, because topcoats alone do not hold.
